It was 1939 when the architect Ettore Rossi, an authoritative representative of rationalism and rigorism, was commissioned by the family of Duce Benito Mussolini to design a private and exclusive villa where one could spend convivial moments immersed in the countryside just a few minutes from Rome.
The position on which to build the property was not chosen by chance: dominant on the highest hill of the Marcigliana Reserve, it boasts a breathtaking 360-degree panorama that ranges from the Terminillo mountains to the Roman castles, from the Tiber valley to the Tolfa mountains and even , on particularly clear days, from the Argentario promontory to the Pontine islands, with the city of Rome and the dome of St. Peter at the center of everything.
The closed and open block of this isolated architecture seems to want to defend itself from the penetrating air and at the same time opens its walls to the extreme panorama on three sides, letting the light penetrate the large windows.
The natural stone that characterizes the facades of the villa gives a sense of authenticity and the high ceilings give a generous volume, from which to savor and dominate the entire surrounding valley.
Today's development includes a main house, all on the ground floor, composed of a majestic living room with fireplace, a large kitchen, two bedrooms with two en suite bathrooms and a relaxation area for a Turkish bath and a small spa. Next to it is the charming little tower, a small refuge which hides a small living area, bathroom and a lovely bedroom on the upper floor.
On the north side of the villa, with independent access, there is an apartment intended for use as a service to the villa with a living area, bathroom and double bedroom.
The external staircase leads to the roof terrace, of approximately 300 m2, with a roof terrace, an environment that can be furnished and lived in, to entertain guests with unforgettable sunsets.
The entire estate where the hunting lodge stands has an area of approximately 6 hectares, with 80 olive trees, some agricultural outbuildings, and fruit trees, pure nature, without artificial boundaries.
The property also includes a small dependance cottage of approximately 120 m2, which needs to be completely renovated, the swimming pool and the tennis court.
We are located within the Marcigliana Regional Park and safety is guaranteed by accessibility limited by two gates on the slopes of the hill which allow passage only to those who are residents or authorized.
This residence is today looking for its new owner, a person who knows the taste of authentic charm, who truly loves the serenity of silence with the varied voices of the countryside, but who claims the city of Rome is no more than 20 minutes away by car .
